Pretty good service

I needed to host a new project and Cloudways popped up. Decided to try their Vultr Managed Hosting. Everything was pretty easy to set up. I just followed the guides, and my site was live in no time. Didn't have any major issues, which is always a plus. Performance seems solid enough for what I need. Happy with how it turned out.

Detailed review of Managed WordPress Hosting

I decided to move my WordPress site to Cloudways' Managed WordPress Hosting, specifically on an AWS server. The ordering process was fairly standard, and the server was provisioned quickly. I used the Cloudways Migrator Plugin, which handled the transfer with minimal intervention from my side; it was surprisingly efficient. Performance has been a noticeable improvement over my previous host, with pages loading much faster. I also tested their 24/7 support with a minor configuration question, and the response was prompt and helpful. The Cloudways Staging Environment is a great feature for testing updates before pushing them live, which saved me some headaches. The only thing I haven't fully explored yet is the Cloudways CDN, but it's good to know it's an option if I need it. Server monitoring tools give a good overview of resource usage. I appreciated the free SSL certificates too.

Solid hosting, minor hiccup

I signed up for their Managed PHP Hosting and generally had a good experience. The server performance has been quite reliable, and I appreciate the ease of scaling. The automated backups are a nice safety net. However, I did have a small issue with understanding the billing structure initially; it took a bit of digging to fully grasp it. Support was helpful once I reached out, but clearer upfront information on how Cloudways billing works would be an improvement. Overall, satisfied with the service and value.

Super easy migration!

Migrating my site to Cloudways was so incredibly smooth, I couldn't believe it! The Cloudways Migrator Plugin just worked, no fuss at all. My WordPress site is running so much faster now on their DigitalOcean Managed Hosting. I'm definitely going to recommend this to all my developer friends! What a fantastic platform, I'll absolutely be back for more hosting needs!

Good value for managed hosting

I was looking for a managed WordPress hosting solution that wouldn't break the bank. Cloudways offered a pretty decent deal for new users, which caught my eye. The initial setup was straightforward, and I felt like I was getting a lot for my money compared to other options I checked out. The 3-day free trial also sealed the deal, letting me test things without commitment. It felt like a worthwhile purchase overall.

Is Cloudways good for bigger e-commerce stores, like a WooCommerce site with high traffic? Or should I go with something like Kinsta?

K Kate H. 1 month ago
Cloudways can totally handle high-traffic WooCommerce. That's what I use it for. The vertical scaling and dedicated resources really help. Kinsta is great too, but Cloudways offers more control over the underlying server.

O Omar 1 month ago
For high-traffic WooCommerce, Cloudways is a solid choice. Especially with Object Cache Pro and their CDN. I've seen some big stores run on it without issues. Kinsta is good, but Cloudways gives you more options for providers.

I'm looking at the Black Friday deals. Do they usually have good ones for new customers? Like, a decent discount?

K Kevin Z. 1 month ago
Historically, Black Friday is one of their biggest sale times. Expect something like 30-40% off for a few months, or a decent hosting credit. Definitely a good time to join.

T Tom Lindqvist 1 month ago
They typically have solid Black Friday discounts, yeah. Keep an eye out closer to the date, but they usually give new sign-ups a good chunk off for the first few months.

What's the deal with promo codes? Can I apply one if I already have an account but want to add a new server?

B Brett K. 2 months ago
Nah, pretty sure promo codes are only for new sign-ups when you first create your account. Doesn't work on existing servers, sadly.
5
K Kate Lindqvist 1 month ago
Pretty sure they're strict about that. New users only for the signup discounts. You might get a renewal discount or something later, but not with those initial codes.

How long does it typically take to get a new server set up and ready to go after signing up?

M Mia P. 2 months ago
It's usually super quick, like within 10-15 minutes in my experience. You pick your server, provider, and it just spins up.
5
A Amber G. 2 months ago
Yeah, not long at all. The longest part is probably deciding which cloud provider and server size you want, haha. Actual deployment is fast.

Thinking of switching from SiteGround, is Cloudways really that much better for WordPress? Worth the hassle of migrating?

C Cleo Foster 1 month ago
I moved from SiteGround a while back, and yeah, for performance it's a noticeable difference. Especially if you have a busy site. The migration tool helps a lot too.
2
M Mia 1 month ago
Depends on your needs, but I've found Cloudways to be much faster and more flexible. SiteGround is good, but Cloudways gives you more control and better resources, especially for scaling.

Anyone know if I can host a few different WordPress sites on the same Cloudways server? Or do I need a separate server for each?

E Elena R. 1 month ago
You can definitely host multiple sites on one server. That's actually one of the big perks. Just depends on your server size and traffic, obviously.
3
M Mike Osei 1 month ago
Yup, that's what I do. It's pretty efficient if your sites aren't super resource-heavy. They make it easy to add new apps (sites) to an existing server.

Does Cloudways include email hosting, or do I need to get that separately?

D Dan H. 1 month ago
They don't include email hosting with the main plans. You gotta get it separately, either through their Rackspace add-on or another provider.
5
M Marcus 1 month ago
Nope, no email hosting built-in. That's one thing you'll need to figure out on your own or pay for their Rackspace option. Most people just use Google Workspace or similar.

Hey guys, wondering about the free trial. Is it really no credit card required? Want to kick the tires before committing.

N Noor Whitfield 2 months ago
Yeah, totally. I signed up for the 3-day trial last month and didn't have to put in any card info. It's pretty straightforward.

A Anna 2 months ago
Can confirm, no card needed. Just make sure you actually get in there and try it out during those three days, it goes by fast.
